And I started to work with the wool I bought some days ago. I even felted with cold water and almost no soap (warm water and soap are the basic elements needed for felting…and the wool obviously!) and the results were fast and super soft.
I made some prefelts which at the same time gave me a chance to try out the wool. Fantastic material. Did I say that already? ahaha Im really happy with it!
And then I went on to dye a good kilo of wool. It took me about 2 days to dye the whole kilo in different colors…it is a long, slow process but I think the fact that friends and family kept stopping by my working space to ask what I was doing, have some “mate”, and chat; did not help. It was fun nonetheless.

Empece a trabajar con la lana que conseguí los otros días. Es buenísima. He inclusive afieltrado con agua fría y con muy poco jabón, y los resultados fueron fantásticos: una tela suave y fuerte.
Hice algunos “prefelts”(foto2) lo cual me dio la oportunidad de probar la lana y sentir un poco sus tiempo. Vieron que esto del fieltro es una experiencia táctil sobretodo.
Y cuando estaba lista, me puse a teñir. Tardé dos días en teñir algo de 1kl de lana en diferentes colores. Se tarda de por si bastante porque todo tiene sus tiempos. Pero el hecho de que pasaban cada dos por tres amigos y familia a charlar, tomar mate, preguntar que hacia…”querer ayudar”…demoró todo un poco mas. De todas maneras es mas divertido trabajar con gente al rededor.
Una vez que tuve todo terminado, me puse a trabajar… y aca abajo una miradita …

Que belleza de texturas y colores!! Como me gusta el fieltro!!! El otro dia conoci a una chica que hace fieltro, y me contaba que teñir la lana ya es un poco como prefieltrarlo (no se como se dice), y como que ella no se animaba por eso, y prefiere conseguirla teñida, pero ella esta empezando, segun entendi. No veo la hora de aprender a hacerlo!

En realidad no hay que hervir nunca el agua, tiene que quedar siempre a unos 70/80C y no moverla mucho… yo tiño siempre mi lana y no pierden su suavidad ni se apiñan las fibras… cuestión de experiencia?? lo cual solo se consigue intentando, asi que…avanti!

nooo…yo todavia noooo. no soy ni ahi autodidacta, tengo que esperar que me llegue una maestra! pero debe andar cerca, porque yo estaba cosiendo un patchwork, y esta chica ( de la pelicula que esta trabajando mi marido, ni la conocia) se me sienta al lado, y asi porque si me dice, yo hago fieltro…!! chan!!!
