My name is Mariana Ciliberto. I’m a ceramist and fibre artist. I’m also the mother of one little boy and the wife of a very intelligent- also crafty- man…

I was born and raised in the Argentinean Patagonia where the wind blows strong, the landscape is vast and empty and the sun shines even in the cold winters.

A decade ago, whilst travelling around Europe, I met a dutch guy who, only a few months later, was on his knees asking me to spend my life with him. And I said yes. So I packed up my life in Argentina and moved to The Netherlands. Many things have happened since, but one thing I’ve learnt for sure: being involved with arts; experimenting, daring, learning… is what makes me happy. And ultimately, I wish to pass that on to my son: dream, work hard and enjoy the process. That is what life is about:  the trip, not the destination.

Florcita means “little flower” in spanish, and it has been my nickname for ever. My ceramic pieces have always been signed witha  little flower so it stuck!

Me llamo Mariana Ciliberto. Soy ceramista y artista textil.  Soy tambien la madre de un pequeño de 3 años y la esposa de un inteligente hombre, tambien artesano (en su tiempo libre…).

Hace casi una decada ya, mientras que viajaba por Europa, conoci al holandés que unos pocos meses despues estaria de rodillas pidiendome que pase el resto de mi vida con el. Y dije que si. Asi que meti mi vida en Argentina en una valija y me mude a Holanda.

Muchas cosas han pasado en estos años pero una cosa es seguro que he aprendido: estar relacionada con el arte, experimentar, atreverme, aprender… es lo que me hace felíz. Y en ultima instancia es esto lo que le quiero transmitir a mi hijo: hay que soñar, trabajar duro y disfrutar el proceso. Eso es lo que para mi es lo importante de la vida: el viaje, no el destino.

Florcita ha sido mi sobrenombre toda mi vida. Mis piezas de cerámica siempre las firme con una florcita…asi que..quedó!
